Additional AuPairCare Program Fees and Options
In addition to AuPairCare's basic fees, there are several variable costs related to the program which include:
- A domestic air surcharge to fly your au pair from the AuPairCare Orientation and Training in New Jersey to your local airport
- Costs mandated by the U.S. Department of State and AuPairCare:
- Tuition for the au pair to take local classes (up to $500 per year)
- Automobile insurance coverage for the au pair
- Room and board
Repeat Host Families: Host families who have completed one full year will receive a $500 discount** off their next annual program fees and the $300 application fee is waived.
Extended Payment Plan: An extended payment plan is available, with a $3,800 down payment due upon matching, followed by three installments of $1,245 each, due at two, four and six months after arrival. An administrative cost of $340 is included.
Pre-Matching: A "pre-match" is when a host family has determined they would like to match with a specific au pair rather than review applicants who have been recruited through our overseas partners. As long as the au pair meets the program requirements and lives in a country that AuPairCare services, we are able to arrange a pre-match. Review our Pre-match information sheet for details about this process. Pre-matches are subject to the same program fees as our One-Year Au Pair Program fees.
In-Country Au Pair: AuPairCare has a limited number of au pairs who are already in the United States and available for placement. Au pair availability is limited and dependent upon factors such as the au pair's current location, childcare qualifications and date of availability. Please contact your local Area Director to inquire about available in-country au pairs in your area. The fee for an in-country au pairs is $600 for each month remaining on the au pair's visa, and is due in full prior to the au pair's arrival. Families are responsible for the cost of the au pair's transportation to the new community.

*AuPairCare would like to inform you that the weekly au pair stipend will be increasing. The Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007 that was recently signed into law states that over the next two years, minimum wage will increase in three stages. Following is an overview of the au pair weekly stipend changes over the next two years.
