My name is Rachel Zurek, and I'm proud to serve as your AuPairCare Area Director. Having grown up in the Detroit area and recently returned with my husband and our three young children, I love sharing my favorite local spots and helping au pairs feel at home while discovering all this region has to offer. I provide support through interviews, orientations, monthly contacts, local events & ongoing guidance. Au pairs enjoy exploring the Detroit Riverwalk, visiting the Henry Ford Museum, attending local festivals, and discovering the area's diverse restaurants. Greater Detroit is a fun, welcoming place to live, learn, and build lifelong friendships. I look forward to welcoming you to the AuPairCare family!

My Role in Your Journey

I'm with you every step of the way! As your Area Director, I provide personalized, designated local support that makes all the difference - for both your family and your au pair.

Conduct an in-home interview to understand your family's childcare needs and ensure program fit
Conduct an arrival orientation once your au pair joins your household - covering program guidelines and setting everyone up for success
Maintain monthly contact throughout your entire program year to ensure a happy, thriving placement
Organize local, in-person community activities and outings for au pairs to build friendships and explore the area
Provide guidance through any challenges from cultural adjustment to scheduling - along with AuPairCare's 24/7 support

Steps to Host an Au Pair

Host Family Portal

Once you register and apply, you'll gain access to our award-winning portal to search for au pairs based on childcare experience, skills, nationality, language, age, driving status and more.

Matching Managers

Our dedicated team plays an active role in helping you find the right au pair, addresses program questions, and offers recommendations around your family's specific wants and needs for your family.

Interviewing

When you find an au pair you’re interested in, we’ll help you set up an interview. During these calls, you can share information about your family and learn about an au pair to see if the match will be a good fit.

Mutual Match

After you decide on an au pair and both agree to match, you'll choose an arrival date. We'll take care of the visa paperwork and flights, and help you plan for your au pair's arrival after AuPairCare Connect in NYC.
