Nicole Torrence

Hello! My name is Nicole Torrence, and I am truly excited to serve as your Area Director for the South Bay and West LA regions of California.
I was born and raised in Northern Germany, where I completed an apprenticeship as a Chef and gained international experience working in places like Italy. In 2006, I moved to Hagerstown, MD as an Au Pair and later relocated with my host family to Hudson, MA. Following my Au Pair experience, I pursued my education, eventually moving to Los Angeles, CA, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Child Development.
Los Angeles is also where I met my husband, and today we live with our two wonderful children. I’m passionate about building strong communities and supporting families. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors, hosting BBQs for friends and family, and traveling to explore new cultures and places.

My Role in Your Journey
I'm with you every step of the way! As your Area Director, I provide personalized, designated local support that makes all the difference - for both your family an your au pair.
- Conduct an in-home interview to understand your family's childcare needs and ensure program fit
- Coordinate interviews with your top aur pair candidates and our Matching Account Managers with confidence
- Conduct an arrival orientation once your au pair joins your household - covering program guidelines and setting everyone up for success
- Maintain monthly contact throughout your entire program year to ensure a happy, thriving placement
- Organize local, in-person community activities and outings for au pairs to build friendships and explore the area
- Provide guidance through any challenges from cultural adjustment to scheduling - along with AuPairCare's 24/7 support

Family Room
Once you register and apply, you'll gain access to our award-winning database to search for au pairs based on childcare experience, skills, nationality, language, age, driving status and more.
Matching Managers
Our dedicated team plays an active role in helping you find the right au pair, addresses program questions, and offers recommendations around your family's specific wants and needs for your family.
Interviewing
When you find an au pair you’re interested in, we’ll help you set up an interview. During these calls, you can share information about your family and learn about an au pair to see if the match will be a good fit.
Mutual Match
After you decide on an au pair and both agree to match, you'll choose an arrival date. We'll take care of the visa paperwork and flights, and help you plan for your au pair's arrival after AuPairCare Connect in NYC.
