FirstName From Country

My years in America opened my eyes to the world and was the start of a great interest in travelling. I love to experience different cultures and to meet people from all over the world. I have travelled in South America, North America, Asia, Africa and Europe, and I keep coming back to America to visit my American friends and family. I am currently working as a social worker, and have a Professional Degree in Social Work. Sweden is divided into 290 regions, called municipalities, and I work at a social service office in the municipality of Ockero. I work with refugee children who come alone to Sweden, without their parents or other guardians. The children are between 8-17 years old and come from all over the world, mostly from Afghanistan and Somalia. We place the children in foster families. My years as an au pair gave me cultural experience, something that was crucial in getting the job I have today. They interviewed three persons and what made them decide that I would get this job was my years in America, and the fact that I was used to and adaptable to different cultures. My two years as an au pair in America has had a great impact in my life. I grew as a person both from the responsibility of taking care of two precious children and travelling alone to a country with a different language and culture. The best thing about my years in America is that I gained a new family, my American family as I call them :)
