Since I first started working with AuPairCare I dedicated myself to delivering the best service possible to my host families and au pairs. My goal is to build a relationship with each one of them based on trust, competence and reliability.

To do so I try to use the host family's interview as a way for us to get to know each other and to provide the host family with all the tools necessary to use our Family Room system and to find the right au pair for them.

Upon matching with their AuPairCare au pair I send the host family a "congratulations email" with some suggestions on how to make the au pair feel welcome when she arrives.

At the same time I write a "congratulations email" to the new au pair sending her our local AuPairCare directory and encouraging her to contact one of us before her arrival. I think this email is an important step to make the au pair feel welcome and also to assure her that there is somebody else, besides her host family, who she can count on once she is away from her home country.

Before the au pair's arrival in the host family's home I mail her a welcome letter with suggestions on how to be a great au pair and letting her know I will soon come over to meet her.

At the AuPairCare Au Pair Training and Orientation I bring her an AuPairCare folder with all the required documents as well as maps, college schedules, a DMV manual and information about the city to help her get to know her new surroundings.

In organizing the monthly events, which I do together with the other AuPairCare Area Director for San Francisco, Laura DelaFuente, we try to choose fun activities for these young girls to encourage them to participate and get to know each other. It's a great reward for me to see that a lot of the au pairs become friends and spend time together during their time off.

Above all, my main goal is to make sure both host families and au pairs know that I am always available for them for anything they need, whether it is to answer a simple question or help them in an emergency or to be there to assist them in case of a match break.
