AuPairCare Extension Program

The Extension Program is a wonderful opportunity to provide your family with continuous childcare for up to 2 years. You and your au pair have the option to extend the program for an additional 6, 9, or 12 months.

Benefits of Extending Your Program:

  • Consistent, high-quality childcare for up to two years from someone who knows your family and your schedule
  • Reduced Program Fees for extension host families
  • Time savings by eliminating the search for a new au pair

Program Details:

To Apply:

AuPairCare recommends that host families and au pairs apply to the Extension Program after the au pair has been in the U.S. for at least 8 months.

The extension application consists of 2 parts: the online Host Family Extension Application and the Au Pair Extension Application.

The first step is to complete the online Host Family Extension Application by logging into Family Room. After you submit the online Host Family Extension Application, your au pair needs to print and return this Au Pair Extension Application along with education certificates or valid proof that she/he has completed 6 credits or equivalent of post-secondary education at an accredited institution(s). The Au Pair Extension Application may be submitted to AuPairCare by either fax or mail.

Fax to: 415-434-5415
Mail to: AuPairCare - Extension Program Department
600 California Street, 10th Floor
San Francisco, CA 94108

You must submit both the online Host Family Extension Application and the printed Au Pair Extension Application along with the proof of education by the deadline date. AuPairCare will send you a confirmation email that the Extension Application is complete once both portions have been received.

Deadline Dates:

AuPairCare can only accept extension applications on or before the deadline date that corresponds with the au pair's original U.S. arrival. Late applications cannot be accepted by AuPairCare. View extension deadline dates.
