Hi everyone,
Hope you had a nice 4th of July and enjoyed seeing how Americans celebrate the holiday, the birthday of the US. Parades, barbques, picnics, fireworks!!! What did you do to celebrate?
What national holiday do you have in your home country? Do you have a national holiday similar to our 4th of July? What is it called, when is it celebrated, how is it celebrated…write a blog about it and win a surprise!
Can’t wait to hear!!!

On JUly 9 th,1816 Argentina proclaimed independence from Spanish rule.
It is customary for Argentinians to wear an escarapela(a piece of cloth which is white and light blue as the colors of our flag) on our clothes. We generally gather with our families and eat our typical food such as empanadas(pastries filled with meat ) and pastelitos(pastries filled with jelly)or a delicious barbecue. We are very proud of our beef.I really miss this.
There are also parades and festivals.

Hii
In Thailand have a Songkran Festival, it is a Thai traditional New Year which starts on April 13 every year and lasts for 3 days.
It is also known as the “Water Festival” as people believe that water will wash away bad luck.
The Thai people celebrate this festival with water. Everyone gets soaking wet and since it is the hottest season of the year, the custom is quite refreshing. Songkran is a Public Spring Cleaning Day, supported by the religious belief that anything old and useless must be thrown away or it will bring bad luck to the owner.
^-^ JOIN IN THE FUN AND BE PREPARED TO GET WET? VERY WET!
Welcome to Thailand ….–O^-^O–

Well in Brazil we have the September 7th, it’s the same thing and is celebrate the same way. We have parades everywhere in the country and people love because they can all go to the beach or something like it. And it’s a great opportunity to make a big brazilian barbecue and a great “pagode” (brazilian music). It’s a very funny day! We can not be as patriotic as the americans, but we do have proud to be the most happy people in the world, no matter how many problems we may have!
I miss Brazil!
