AuPairCare San Francisco Au Pairs Time to leave your phone alone while driving…
Dear AuPairCare au pairs,
starting today, July 1st, you must use a hands-free device when using your cell phone while driving. So make sure you have one before you plan on driving and need to use your cell phone.
Some suggestions: an ear “piece”, a solar powered car set, a bluetooth device. Please share with us what you are planning on using and where to get it, so that each San Francisco au pair can get one.
Be safe!

Au Pairs, LCCs & Parents –
Don’t kid yourself. Getting a hands-free device so that you can drive “safely” is a BAD IDEA.
Using a hands-free cell phone while driving is no safer than using a hand-held cell phone while driving.
Look at my post on http://www.AuPairMom.com that shows explains why even an hands-free phone is dangerous. Look at the graph that shows how inexperienced drivers using even a hands-free phone are 4 times more likely to be distracted than someone not using a phone at all.
*** No Au Pair who cares about her own safety, the safety of her friends, or the safety of the children she cares for should use a cell phone while she drives. ****
