Do you come from an area where there are good old Spring / Summer Thunderstorms? Many au pairs do not, but if you grew up with them, as I have, there is nothing better than sleeping to the sound of rain and thunder as long as you’re NOT in a tent and there aren’t tornado sirens going off!
What is the emergency plan in your host family’s home in the event of a serious storm or tornado sighting? What should you do if you are in a car and you see a funnel cloud? Most Central / Southern Cities have serious weather warning sirens. Does yours? Share your thoughts with other au pairs on storms and what you feel you should do if you are alone with the kids when a tornado is near the home?
