We’re excited to have this blog available for AuPairCare Au Pairs to communicate with each other and find out what’s happening in the North Shore area of Suffolk County. Now that the weather is warming up it’s a good chance to get outside and walk along our beautiful beaches.  You can plan a wonderful activity with your host children by packing a picnic lunch and heading to the shore with a kite. What a wonderful way to create memories with the children in your care. Has anyone tried this yet? What’s your favorite activity with your host children? What do you like to do with your friends in your free time? Please reply to this post - it’s your place to chat!

major difference is on the n. shore, the water is not as clean, you will get many times, closures from high bacterial levels. the north shore water is nice, in that it is calmer, and niec to walk into the water ( once you pass the rocks ! ).

    I advise water shoes

    Josie,
I wanted to explain the beach erosion on the South Shore is caused by the Atlantic Ocean waves and constant pounding of the beaches and the North Shore is the Sound and the tide does not create the same effect so the shore remains rocky.
    Enjoy the day,
    Pat

    Hey Ceaton,
as far as I know the biggest difference is that there is rocky beaches at north and sand beaches at the south shore!
