AuPairCare welcomes new aupairs arriving in New Jersey - Bergen County
Please help me extend a warm welcome to the new arrivals this month. Remember how it was when you first arrived. It is a difficult time and a few friendly voices can make all the difference. Please see the monthly newsletter for the full list of new au pairs.
If you could give the new au pairs one piece of advice, what would it be?

Hello Girls. An au pair desperately needs company for travelling. Please forward this msg.
“My name is Alicja, I’m an au pair from Poland. I’m looking for somebody who can go with me for a great trip to California. The girl that I was supposed to go with, just told me she couldn’t go.
The trip starts on August 15th, from Chicago to California and back to Chicago - 10 days, through 12 states. Program of this trip is awesome.
The trip is 995$ (it’s 10 days) and there are breakfasts included in some hotels/motels)
+ ticket to Chicago (because trip starts from Chicago) Plane - both ways - cost 330$, Train both ways 200$
If you are interested, please let me know and I will give you more information.

Of course it’s importend for new Au Pairs to socialize and get in contact with other Au Pairs!! You’ll spend every day with the kids and the family. In fact the new friends are there for you, if you are homesick or you’ve trouble to come down and relax - without the family! Also have some Au Pairs certain “meetings”, like hanging out in Houlihan’s (bar/restaurant) every Tuesday. Just ask a “senior au pair”, she/he’ll probably know!!

A piece of advise I would give to all newly arriving au pairs is to get to make sure they spend time with their host family and ask lots of questions. It is more important to learn about the children and the household, than socializing outside of the family.
