Benefits and Salary

As an au pair, you'll live with a host family and experience American life firsthand. You'll master English and feel comfortable and confident speaking it. You'll take classes at an American university, make friends from around the world, travel to many cities, teach Americans about your culture, and now earn over $9,000 as an AuPairCare au pair.

What An Au Pair Receives

• Access to a large pool of carefully screened, welcoming host families
• Ability to select a host family and location
• A 12-month J-1 cultural exchange visa
• Round-trip airfare from your country to the New York/New Jersey area, and one-way airfare to your host community
• 4-day orientation and training program
• Free private room and full board provided by your host family
• 2 weeks of paid vacation and 4 weeks to travel at the end of the year
• Monthly social activities and events with other au pairs
• Constant, year-long support of a local AuPairCare representative
• Opportunity to extend your program for an additional 6, 9 or 12 months
• Medical and accident travel insurance for the duration of your program

Au Pair Salary

• Educational allowance of $500
• A weekly stipend of $176.85, or $9,196.20 per year
