Meet Au Pairs
Ellen
Brazil

Ellen is 26 years old and from Santa Cruz do Sol, Brazil. Ellen has had over 300 hours of infant qualified experience with children 3 months and up! She also works as a private math tutor for young children in her spare time.
Ellen currently works at a public school in her hometown and is "ready for a new challenging experience," so she wants to become an au pair in the U.S.
She says, "I have all the abilities of a person that takes care of children with a lot of tenderness and love." She enjoys reading, aerobics, fishing, windsurfing, and she can't wait to ski with the kids!
Nataly
Germany

Nataly is 18 years old and from Solingen, Germany. She has over 800 hours of childcare experience with children under the age of two, and over 1,000 hours total! She has a great interest in child development, and loves to incorporate different games as a teaching tool. Since the age of 15 she has wanted to become an au pair in the U.S.A. because of her interest in American culture and her love for children.
Nataly has had extensive training in first aid, lifesaving and she is a great swimmer! The most important thing in the world to her is family, "... my family supports my wish to become an au pair because they know how much this means to me."
Nataly also love cooking, reading, camping, music and of course travel!
Paula
Ecuador

Paula is 21 years old and from Quito, Ecuador. Paula has been volunteering as a tutor for underprivileged children for over 3 years now! According to Paula, "working with underprivileged children made me discover the big responsibility of what taking care of a child means." She has also had 2,000 plus hours of childcare experience with children 3 months and older.
Paula is currently studying Law, and someday would like to work for the international organization UNICEF. She says, "becoming an au pair will allow me to achieve my personal goals of working with children and improving my English skills."
She loves dance, aerobics, cooking, gardening and fishing!
Papatta
Thailand

"Oh" is 22 years old and from Chachoengzao, Thailand. She has over 550 hours of childcare experience with children from 3 months until 12 years of age. Oh graduated from Burapha University with a major in Education Technology, and has been teaching English, Social Studies and Mathematics to Primary School children in her native Thailand. She also helped run an Anti-Drug Camp for young children by informing children about the dangers of drug use, and how to avoid peer pressure.
"I like to play and take care of children and I think this program is an excellent opportunity to improve my English skills, to learn American culture, to make new friends and to travel."
In Oh's spare time she likes to listen to the radio, read books, and play the piano!
Flavia
Brazil

Flavia is 24 years old and from Rio de Janeiro. She has looked after children for over ten years and immediately fell in love with the AuPairCare program; "when I play with kids, I feel like a child again."
Flavia has volunteered at her local Christian Protestant Church nursery, caring for small infants for over 300 hours and has taken classes to educate herself in the best way to care for newborns. Flavia also volunteers at a special needs school twice a week as she feels that "they are an example for life".
She enjoys dancing, biking, gymnastics, cooking and playing with animals. According to her colleague at the nursery, "Flavia has an inside joy that captivates people around her."
Karolin
Sweden

Karolin is 20 years old and from Klagerup, Sweden. She has been working at a daycare facility, and has been babysitting for years. Karolin's special skills include training in first aid and lifesaving, as well as being a fantastic cook!
Karolin "really loves children, there is something very special about them..." and is thrilled with the opportunity to take care of her future host family and expose them to her Swedish culture!
She loves dancing, animals, skiing, ice hockey and horseback riding! Karolin has been training to horseback ride for over three years now.
Cinthia
Mexico

Cinthia is 18 years old and from Monclova Coaguila, Mexico. She's had over 520 hours of infant qualified experience with children under the age of two, and has been working in a daycare nursery facility for over two years now!
At the daycare, Cinthia cares for children from 6 weeks to 4 years of age by bottle feeding, diaper changing, toilet training and keeping the children entertained. Cinthia also has training in first aid, lifesaving, nursing and life guarding.
According to Cinthia, "I find children to be honest, loving, fun to be with and I like taking care of them." She also loves drawing, swimming, gardening, basketball and karate!
Thomas
Czech Republic

Thomas is 23 years old and from Postrekov, Czech Republic. Growing up, Thomas says he was always surrounded by children. He has four younger nephews that he looked after, ages 4, 6, 8, and 13. They are a very athletic family and Thomas enjoys playing football and swimming.
Thomas also worked every summer as an instructor at a firefighting camp. He has skills in first aid and CPR. He also worked in summer camps with children organizing games, arts and crafts, and cooking.
After graduating from high school, Thomas moved to England to improve his English skills and work abroad as a carpenter and gardener. While there he spent time visiting his sister who was an au pair in England. Thomas also spent time with the three children she was caring for and became intrigued by the profession.
Thomas decided to join AuPairCare and live in the United States because it would combine his interest in children with the opportunity to continue learning English.
Joanna
England

Joanna is 19 years old and from Cornwall, England. As Cornwall is surrounded on three sides by the sea, Joanna loves the water and the beach. Growing up, her parents owned a garden center, so Joanna was surrounded by nature. She appreciated the great outdoors and is also involved with horseback riding.
Joanna had experience taking care of children ages 2 to 14 years. She has worked in both a nursery school and a summer camp setting, giving her experience working with children of different ages in a group setting. Just last summer Joanna worked at Camp America teaching horseback riding in New Jersey. Joanna says, "Working with the kids everyday was unbelievably great and I enjoyed every second of it!" While at the camp she also spent time looking after the camp owner's children. It was doing this that made her realize she wanted to come back to the United States as an au pair.
Sophia
Mexico

Sophia is 19 years old and from Saltillo, Mexico. After graduating from high school Sophia heard about AuPairCare from a friend. She says, "I love children, so when I heard that I could go to America to improve my English and to be around kids, which is one of my favorite things, it sounded like the perfect idea to me."
Sophia grew up with four siblings. She has experience taking care of her two younger brothers as well as her nieces and nephews. She has also done babysitting for family friends and worked at summer camps. Over the past three summers she has been a counselor at an international camp caring for children ages 7 to 10. Last year she won the title of "Best Counselor."
Sophia also loves to sing and has participated in several singing contests and musical plays. She hopes to take classes involving music while in the United States.
Sophia says, "When I started looking at the au pair program I was fascinated because I love children and also because it is very important to me to be a part of a family. I am the kind of person who likes to care for others. I thought this would be a wonderful experience."
Renee
New Zealand

Renee is 19 years old from Wanganui, New Zealand. She grew up on a small farm and comes from a large family with six kids. Renee also has three nieces and five nephews, ages six weeks to 12 years. She spends a lot of time with her family and has experience caring for her siblings.
Renee plays piano and guitar and while in high school she played on the top netball, cricket, and volleyball teams. She says, "I love sports and prefer to spend my spare time outdoors." She is also an avid swimmer and was in the senior girls lifesaving team at school, earning a Bronze Medallion for her lifesaving skills.
While at University, Renee was named Head Prefect, which meant she showed fantastic leadership qualities, an ability to multi-task, and was capable of handling a heavy work load. After completing a year, she decided to take some time off.
Renee says, "I have always wanted to go to the USA. It would be an amazing experience because I adore children and am keen to meet new people and experience their cultures. I think I am a good role model and I would love to contribute positively to another family's life."
