How to Apply to be an Au Pair in the USA
Ready to get started on an amazing year as an au pair in the USA? Applying to be an au pair is as easy as 1-2-3!
1. Au Pair Qualifications
First, review the au pair qualifications page and the rest of the website to make sure that the program is right for you.
2. Au Pair Preliminary Application
Second, fill out the online au pair Preliminary Application form. This will let us put you in touch with the AuPairCare representative in your home country. They will be able to answer any further questions you may have about the au pair program and guide you through the application process.
3. Au Pair Application and Interview
Third, you will prepare a detailed written au pair application with the support of your local AuPairCare representative. The application includes:
- An essay on why you want to be an au pair
- Photographs of yourself
- A doctor's report from a recent medical check-up
- A police background check
- At least two childcare references and one personal reference
You will also have a personal interview with your local AuPairCare representative in English.
