Return Flight

Approximately three months before the end of your program year, you will receive an important packet of information about scheduling your return flight and requesting your completion bonus. You will receive instructions on how to fill out the forms and return them to AuPairCare headquarters in San Francisco.

Receiving Your Tickets and Bonus

You should receive your tickets about two weeks before the end of your twelfth month. Make sure to give us the address where you would like your ticket sent.

Ticket Changes

Once the Return Flight Request form is submitted to AuPairCare no changes may be made. Replacements of lost tickets are the responsibility of the au pair.

Departure Dates

Due to limited availability, travel restrictions and other factors, AuPairCare cannot guarantee that au pairs will be able to travel on their preferred date. You may not choose a departure date more than 30 days beyond the end of your program.

Insurance Extension

If you have AVI Insurance, your insurance coverage will expire at the end of your twelfth month. If you need any medical treatment after this date, it will be at your own expense, unless you choose to extend your insurance coverage. You are strongly encouraged to extend your coverage, even if you are only going to be staying a few days past the end of your program year. The cost is $50. You may choose to have the $50 deducted from your completions bonus, provided there is enough money left in your bonus to cover that amount.

If you are an STS au pair, you may elect to extend your insurance coverage via STS. Information will be provided to you along with your return flight paperwork.

Completion Bonus

Most au pairs who complete the 12-month program and the educational requirement are eligible to receive a completion bonus. You can elect to have any air surcharges deducted from your completion bonus.
