Au Pair Care wants you to have the best experience possible during your time in the United States. Au Pair Care's staff is here to provide you with advice and support that will help you make the most of your au pair experience.
Our support begins with the Au Pair Care representative in your home country. The representative will provide you (and your family) with information about the program, support you during the application process and prepare you before you depart for your adventure as an au pair in the United States.
Your first stop in the United States will be the Au Pair Academy, located in New Jersey, just outside of New York City. You’ll receive a warm welcome from our experienced and caring Academy Staff, who will greet you and help you settle in for an exciting and important arrival orientation and training program. Because our staff resides on site during the Academy program, you’ll have support during your entire stay.
Your main point of contact in the United States will be your Area Director, who lives within an hour’s drive of your host family home. Your Area Director will:
The Area Director’s most important role is to help both you and your host family have a successful and enjoyable year. Communication and adjustment questions, homesickness, or misunderstandings are best overcome with assistance from your Area Director. The Department of State requires that you talk with your Area Director at least monthly. Au Pair Care encourages you to attend the monthly events your Area Director organizes. Your Area Director will be an incredible support and resource for you, and is looking forward to meeting you soon.

In addition to your Area Director, Au Pair Care also provides au pairs and host families with support in the event of an urgent situation or emergency. You can call 1.800.428.7247 and you’ll be connected with an Au Pair Care staff member who can assist you in the event of an emergency.
In addition to great support, Au Pair Care offers generous au pair salary and benefits, carefully matches host families with au pairs, and provides opportunities to study and travel in the United States. Find out how you can apply!
Au Pair Care’s proprietary Infant Specialized Training utilizes a hands-on approach to train au pairs in infant safety, the “American way” of infant care giving, infant stimulation and development. Infant Specialized au pairs are certified in infant CPR and first aid by the American Heart Association and also receive instruction in infant sign language and baby massage. This additional infant care training will help nurture your baby's healthy growth and encourage language development.
